I began my work with young children in 2003 when I worked for the Campus Children's Center at The Evergreen State College. While attending TESC, I was introduced to Waldorf Education and upon graduation I accepted a position with the Olympia Waldorf School's After Care program and as a Second grade Assistant. For two more years I assisted in two separate Kindergartens as well as another Second grade. I spent 3.5 years with OWS before I decided it was time to become a Certified Waldorf Teacher. I left the school in 2009 to do a solo travel for 5 months in Central America to study Spanish and enjoy a bit of freedom! Upon my return to the states, I moved my life to Eugene, Oregon to attend the Waldorf Teacher Education Eugene program. I graduated in 2011 from WTEE and was offered an assistant/co-teaching position at the Hazelwood House, an outdoor based Waldorf inspired kinder school. The following year I was offered a lead Kindergarten position at the Waldorf School of Mendocino County outside of Ukiah, California. I taught my sweet class for a year and then felt the desire to return to the Pacific Northwest. My heart was homesick for my family, the rain and the community I had known for years.
It has been my dream for the last 8 years to open an in-home kinder school. It feels truly amazing to be bringing this to fruition. Thank you so much for being a part of my living dream.
